Looking to upgrade or change your current family vehicle, or simply looking for a bigger SUV? We have asked some Toyota Highlander owners what some of their personal pros and cons were with the vehicle. We are going to share their honest opinion to help you make the decision on whether or not the Highlander is perfect for you and your family.

As many Toyota owners know, any Toyota product as long it has been maintained properly can last over 200,000 miles; thus, part of the reason why the Toyota Highlander is very popular among families. Below we are going to share the honest pros and cons of the Highlander.

Pros:

-Styling: This is a great vehicle for those who aren’t into minivans, but need a larger vehicle. They opted for the Highlander instead of the Sienna.

-Hybrid Model: Super fuel-efficient, reliable and the drive is smoother than other vehicles that they have driven. The Highlander has been perfect for their family and the Hybrid model helps them save money at the gas pump.

-2nd Row Captains Chairs: They are an absolute must-have in the Highlander, especially if you plan on having third-row passengers; this creates easy access to the third row. Also, second-row captain's chairs create a more comfortable ride for passengers as well.

Cons:

-3rd Row Seating: Is very small not enough space for third-row passengers, if you only hall third-row passengers for small amounts of time this shouldn’t be much of an issue. Or if you plan on using the third-row seats for pets, you should have plenty of space. Toyota has come up with a fix for this issue, they are making the Grand Highlander! Toyota has listened to complaints and the Grand Highlander will be bigger and there will be more room in the third-row seating area as well.

-Missing Rear Roll-Down Window: Many 4Runner fans love this feature, you are able to roll the back window down; allowing for more fresh air to come into the vehicle while you are driving.

-Wireless Charger Is Slow: Some individuals complained the wireless charger can be slow. But this also depends on many factors, such as if there is a case on your phone preventing it from charging faster. This may be frustrating on road trips when everyone is using their cellphone to stream or listen to music.

Our thoughts on the Toyota Highlander is that this vehicle is great for families looking for the styling of an SUV and not a minivan. The Toyota brand is known for its reliability and implementation of hybrid models in its vehicle lineup. We love the fact that you can get the Highlander as a hybrid to help save at the pump. To address a few of the cons, you may want to consider taking a test drive in the Toyota 4Runner or the Toyota Sienna. Although the Sienna is a minivan, the newer body style is more stylish and sleek.
