General Motors is one of many auto manufacturers looking to transition over to zero emissions for all vehicles, from sedans to trucks. The automaker will be carbon neutral by 2035, this was announced Thursday by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mary Barra.

GM has seen through recent years the high demand for electric vehicles with its competitor Tesla. In 2016 they put out the all-electric Chevrolet Bolt and now they are producing the GMC Hummer EV that is set to come out later on this year.

GMC Hummer will have a range of 350 miles. Tesla offers a Model S P100D offers a range of 370 Miles. The Hummer is only 20 miles below what Tesla offers. This will only be offered as a fully electric vehicle. It is ironic how the most gas-guzzling vehicle is now being reissued as an all-electric vehicle. This is only the beginning of GM’s evolution to becoming carbon neutral.
