You may ask, what is the best way to get bugs off the front of a car.

We take great care of our vehicles making it shine and shimmer, especially in the summer! After a weekend road trip you may notice on the front of your car there are some bug guts that refuse to wash off after multiple attempts. We have found the best way to get bugs off the front of a car. Removing bugs from your from your front bumper is essential to keep your vehicle’s paint protected. We put the Cooking Oil Method and Dryer Sheet Method for removing bugs to the test.  Check out our video below.

The Test:

In order to compare each method, we used the cooking spray method on the left side of the vehicle and the fabric softener sheet on the right side of the vehicle. The materials that we gathered were: a buggy 2017 Honda Civic SI, cooking spray, two rags, fabric softener sheets and a bucket of water. First, we used the cooking spray on the left side of the front bumper really spraying a large amount. Then we used our rag to remove the bugs. We noticed that this only covered the bugs with cooking spray, and it only removed some of the critters. Next we moved over to the right side of the vehicle. We dipped our fabric sheet into water and started wiping the bugs off the front of the car. Magic happened! Not only did the bug guts come off, even the critters stuck to the front of the bumper glided off! Then we moved over to the other side of the vehicle with our fabric sheet this was where we sprayed cooking spray, the fabric sheet got rid of what the cooking spray couldn’t.

Conclusion:

The fabric softener sheet is the winner! The reason why this method won is because once the sheet is dipped in water it becomes soapy and the sheet it’s self is slightly abrasive. Both of these methods do not harm your vehicles paint. Once bugs are removed it is recommended that your vehicle gets a nice cleaning!
